THE ETERONA GUIDES

How to calculate your Life Path number

A Life Path number is a numerology number calculated from your birth date. In Numeria, the month, day and year are reduced separately, then combined. The result is used as a symbolic theme for reflection. Here is the exact method, with worked examples you can check yourself.

Calculate it in four steps

1. Reduce your birth month by adding its digits until you reach a single digit or 11, 22 or 33. For example, July is 7; December is 12 → 1 + 2 = 3. In this convention, November remains 11.

2. Reduce the calendar day using the same rule. A day of 24 becomes 2 + 4 = 6, while a day of 22 remains 22.

3. Reduce the birth year using the same rule. For 1990, add 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 9 = 10, then 1 + 0 = 1.

4. Add the three reduced components and reduce their total, again preserving 11, 22 and 33. The result is your Life Path number in Numeria's convention. Your name, chosen zodiac sign and selected reading year do not change this calculation.

Worked example: 24 July 1990

The month is 7. The day is 24 → 6. The birth year is 1990 → 19 → 10 → 1. Add the reduced components: 7 + 6 + 1 = 14. Reduce once more: 1 + 4 = 5. The Life Path number is 5.

Notice that we reduce the month, day and year before combining them. Some calculators add every digit of the date at once. Those methods can differ when master numbers are involved. A different result is a reason to check the stated convention rather than assume that either calculation is a universal standard.

What happens with master numbers 11, 22 and 33?

Numeria preserves 11, 22 and 33 when one appears during a Life Path component reduction or the final reduction. It also shows the underlying single-digit base: 11/2, 22/4 or 33/6. This explains why you may see two numbers written together in a reading.

For a birth date of 9 January 1990, the components are 1, 9 and 1. Their total is 11, so the result stays 11/2. We do not reduce the final 11 to 2 and discard the master-number label.

A master number does not establish superiority, special powers or a guaranteed life outcome. In this symbolic system, it is an additional interpretive theme. You can explore its base number alongside it.

Life Path number meanings: questions to explore

Use these short themes as invitations, not fixed personality labels. 1: initiative — where would you like to begin? 2: cooperation — what helps you work well with someone? 3: expression — what would you like to make or say?

4: structure — what routine supports you? 5: exploration — where would a change of perspective help? 6: care — how can you support others while respecting your own needs?

7: inquiry — what would you like to understand more deeply? 8: stewardship — how do you want to use your time, energy or resources? 9: compassion — what could you complete, release or contribute?

11/2: inspiration and sensitivity — how can an idea become a shared conversation? 22/4: vision and structure — what practical first step would support a larger project? 33/6: care and teaching — what can you share without taking responsibility for everyone?

These are ETERONA's concise symbolic prompts. You do not have to identify with every theme. A reading can start a conversation without defining who you are.

Life Path, birthday number and Personal Year are different

Your birthday number uses only the calendar day. Your Life Path uses the complete birth date, so it stays the same when you select a different year for a reading. Your Personal Year uses the birth month, birth day and selected calendar year, so it changes with that year.

You can calculate a Life Path without supplying a name. Numeria's name-based Expression, Soul Urge and Personality numbers are optional and follow separate letter rules. The method page explains those conventions, and the public atlas example shows how the pieces appear together.
