A little structure behind the wonder.
Forty-two questions explore historical preferences, places, values, relationships, dreams and instincts. Your selected options contribute fixed weights to eight narrative archetypes. Each of the six chapters contributes equally after normalization.
The highest score selects a primary archetype; the next two provide secondary influences. Ties follow a fixed, documented ordering. The same answers and assessment version produce the same profile. These indices are not probabilities or scientifically validated personality scores.
An authored story system uses the profile to select an invented character, scene and dilemma. Motifs and secondary influences give the story additional detail. Fictional identities and historical settings are creative constructions, not evidence about ancestry or a former life.
Completed assessments retain their original question definition and scoring version. Saved reports retain the edition that produced them. A visual redesign does not recalculate your result or silently replace your story.
The convention, made visible.
For each archetype in each chapter, divide the selected answer weight by that chapter’s available maximum weight. Average the six chapter values, then multiply by 100. The original choice questions contribute 3 for a primary theme and 1 for a secondary theme. Six likelihood questions add 0–3 to their respective themes. Each theme is normalized against its own available maximum within the chapter.
For example, 6 points from a possible 12 gives 0.5 for that chapter. Six such values average to 50 out of 100. This is a dimension index for selecting fiction, never a 50% chance that a life was real.
Ties use this fixed order: Scholar, Explorer, Healer, Warrior, Artist, Guardian, Mystic, Diplomat. The three strongest primary chapter themes and selected visual motifs provide additional story details.
A new story, a preserved copy.
The illustrated edition has eight story families and seven leading-secondary branches per family. A branch changes a consequential choice and its resolution; the primary dilemma receives a setting-specific ending. Three response connections quote the frozen questions and choices you actually selected. Those connections never appear on public cards.
Written by ETERONA for SoulEcho. New assessments use version 1.3.0; saved version 1.0.0, 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 journeys keep their original questions. All use chapter-weighted-v1. Storybook editions are versioned separately, so a later design does not rewrite an earlier saved story.
